Mitchell Man Arrested For House Fire

A Mitchell man has been charged with reckless burning in connection with an early morning house fire that destroyed a house last week.  Robert Pomani, 32, is charged with reckless burning after allegedly walking through the unoccupied residence with a lit candle in a glass container.  Pomani said he set the candle down in the attached garage and placed paper on top of the candle to extinguish it.  Pomani then left the residence.  It is believed he was seeking retribution after an earlier incident in which the homeowner reported an assault involving Pomani and another individual, as well as drug activity involving Pomani.  Pomani faces a possible ten years in prison on the charge.
