Mitchell City Council To Discuss VFW Money

The Mitchell City Council will meet Monday night at 7:30 at City Hall in downtown Mitchell.  The council is expected to discuss whether or not to buy the Mitchell VFW building.  The city offered the VFW 150,000 dollars to either move or repair a damaged wall in the building.  The wall was damaged when the city demolished the former Longhorn Bar building.  The VFW asked the city for 175,000 dollars so it could relocate – possibly to the former Cherrybee’s building on North Lawler Street.  The regular council meeting will be preceded by a Traffic Commission meeting at 7:25.
