Mitchell City Council Talks Fundraising

The Mitchell City Council talked fundraising at Monday night’s meeting; specifically, fundraising for the Corn Palace renovation project.  One option discussed is to hire a professional fundraiser to raise money for the $7.1 million renovation, which was approved by the council in July.  Councilman Marty Barington says he believes a professional fundraiser would be able to tap into dollars outside of Mitchell.  Mitchell Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Jacki Miskimins told the council that a feasibility study on the issue would cost between $15,000 and $25,000.  She said she would do more research on the issue and report back at a future council meeting.
