Man Drives Vehicle Into House

Man Drives Vehicle Into House

A Mitchell man drove his vehicle into a house yesterday afternoon after inhaling compressed air, or huffing, to get high.  19 year old River Malatare drove a car into two vehicles waiting at a traffic light on Sanborn, a concrete barrier, a sign, and a house located on the 200 block of North Sanborn.  Malatare and a passenger, 19 year old Dylan Lancer, were each charged with ingesting an intoxicant other than alcohol to become intoxicated.  Malatare was also charged with driving under the influence and having no insurance.  The driver of one of the vans that was hit, 42 year old Tamara Renken of Mitchell, suffered minor injuries in the accident.  Mitchell Police and Mitchell Fire responded to the crash.
