SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The leader of South Dakota’s largest city will seek another term.
Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether filed his statement of candidacy with the city clerk on Nov. 1.
Huether has made no secret that he wants to serve a second term, but he has so far shied away from a formal announcement. He says he wants to focus on being mayor, and is not planning a formal announcement until early next year.
The 51-year-old Huether took office in 2010.
The municipal election is April 8, 2014. One other candidate has come forward formally. City Councilman Greg Jamison announced his candidacy in July.
