Hart Sentenced To Twenty Years In Prison

The inmate who attacked a Davison County jailer in January has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.  23 year old Jeremiah Hart pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer after attacking James Dietz.  Dietz was hospitalized with several facial injuries.  Hart was in jail on a charge of intentional property damage for burning a stolen car with several other people in September of last year.  Hart was also ordered to pay 32,000 dollars in restitution and will undergo mental health treatment while in prison.  He will be eligible for parole in 2027.
