Gas prices are going up – and one of South Dakota’s neighboring states has one of the highest gas prices in the nation. The average price for gallon of regular gas is $4.15 in Minnesota. That is up 69 cents over the past month, and 35 cents in the past week alone. Minnesota is second only to Hawaii in average gas price nationwide. People in Iowa are paying $3.85 per gallon – up 41 cents from a month ago. The average price here in South Dakota is $3.65 per gallon – up 13 cents from last month, but the same price as we were paying one year ago. The national average is $3.63 per gallon. Officials say many factors have contributed to the rise in gas prices.
