Davison County Commission Seeking Public Input

Davison County Commission Seeking Public Input

What looked to be a fairly routine agenda item turned into a half hour discussion at yesterday’s Davison County Commission meeting.  The agenda item was to appoint a Veteran’s Service Officer to a four-year term, and it was thought the commission would re-appoint Steve McClure to another term.  However, a veterans service representative for the federal Veterans Affairs regional office in Sioux Falls, Craig Bennett, attended the meeting and said he would like to be considered for the job.  County Commissioner Denny Kiner, who is also a veteran, says he has not received any complaints about the job McClure is doing.  The commission took no action and would like to get more public input on the issue.  The Veteran’s Service Officer’s four-year term would begin next month.
