City Of Mitchell To Acquire Jitters Coffeehouse Building

The Mitchell City Council on Monday voted to buy the former Jitters Coffeehouse building in downtown Mitchell.  The city and the Chamber of Commerce will split the cost of the building, which is 55,000 dollars.  The building, which likely will not be salvaged, is located just south of the Corn Palace.  Mitchell Mayor Ken Tracy says the city will try to acquire property in the area of the Corn Palace if it becomes available.  The council voted 5-2 in favor of acquiring the building.
