City Council To Vote On City Administrator

The Mitchell City Council on Monday night will consider approval of the hiring of a city administrator.  The administrator would act as a chief operating officer, overseeing the city’s department heads.  The administrator would be accountable to the mayor.  The council will also receive an update on the Next Generation Corn Palace project, which was approved last week by the State Historic Preservation Office.  The council approved the 7.2 million dollar renovation plan in July.  Monday’s council meeting begins at 7:30 at City Hall in downtown Mitchell.  The council meeting will be preceded by a Traffic Commission meeting at 7:00.
