Brookings Man Donates $1 Million To Feeding South Dakota

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — A Brookings businessman has donated $1 million to help Feeding South Dakota expand services and facilities.

Dale Larson is chairman of the board of Larson Manufacturing and president of the Larson Family Foundation. He recently was chosen to lead Feeding South Dakota’s $6 million fundraising campaign.

The donation from Larson and his wife, Patricia, is the largest personal donation in the organization’s history.

Larson says he believes that everyone has the right to a warm meal, no matter their age or circumstance.

Feeding South Dakota is trying to reach a goal of providing 16 million meals a year by 2020 — an annual increase of about 5 million from the number of meals it currently provides statewide.
