Bond Set For Two Suspects In SD Shooting

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Bond has been set at $500,000 each for two men charged in the shooting of a 19-year-old woman at a Sioux Falls apartment.

Eugene Willis Garcia Jr. allegedly fired a single gunshot in the direction of two men and a woman as they were leaving his apartment on Friday. The bullet struck the woman in the upper chest area, puncturing a lung.

Sioux Falls police say her injuries were not life-threatening.

Garcia and a second man, 20-year-old Kelvin Jonathan Santos, are charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault. Both made brief court appearances Monday.

Both men are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 6.
