Avon Man Killed in Crash On Highway 50

An Avon man is dead after a 3 vehicle crash on Highway 50 west of Tyndall in Bonn Homme county. According to the department of public safety, 48 year old Todd Schwering of Avon was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound when he attempted to pass a John-Deere tractor with a sprayer attached to it’s 3 point hitch.  The report states Schwering struck the sprayer, and was separated from his motorcycle. A third vehicle traveling east on Highway 50 then ran over Shchwering. No further details were available on the crash, as it is still under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
