Animal Abuse Charges Dismissed Against Faulk County Woman

Animal Abuse Charges Dismissed Against Faulk County Woman

More than 30 animal abuse-related charges against a Faulk County woman have been dismissed for now.  Charges against 48-year old Dixie Kodet have been dismissed without prejudice.  That means they could be refiled at a later date.  Kodet had been charged with two counts of allowing injured or diseased animals to suffer needlessly and 33 counts of inhumane treatment of animals.  35 rat terriors were removed from Kodet’s rural Faulkton home after authorities discovered them during a probation check.  Authorities said the dogs were living in inhumane conditions.  Two of the dogs were found dead.  The others were taken to the Beadle County Humane Society.
