Governor Dennis Daugaard has proclaimed Friday, April 19, as “A Day of Remembrance” in observance of the 20th anniversary of the state plane crash that took the lives of eight South Dakotans, including Governor George S. Mickelson. The men were returning from Cincinnati where they had traveled in an ultimately successful effort to save the John Morrelll packing plant in Sioux Falls.
The effort is to raise public awareness of traffic laws.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 996-1700.
Now is also a good time to make sure your smoke detectors work.
Sidewalks should be cleared 24 hours after the snowfall ends.
