MORNING LIVESTOCK FOR July 25th, 2015. Cattle: Cash cattle last week: $145.-146.00 & $231-232.00 dressed; On 69 boxed loads, cut outs mixed at dn. $1.89(c) to up. $.27(s) @ $230.72 & $229.33 respectively; Carcass Equiv. $219.28 dn. $1.50. Comments: August cattle still in a free-fall with the nearby ‘meaningful’ support $142-142.32. Weekend BBQ weather was excellent in many areas with no high-heat (though humid as hell). However, as before considering the retail prices we are still stuck with will make it difficult to wrap around a seasonal low this week but we’ll let the charts guide us and try to not bottom pick; C-O-F and Inventory reports were negative from a supply standpoint but longer term, right now we are fighting demand and so far that demand has been flat including beef exports. Nearby support now $142.00-141.72; open interest rose 1200 amid moderate volume; C-O-T report: leaned bullishly. Hogs: Interior hogs @ West dn. $.56; East N/E $.; avg. price roughly $N/A; cut outs rose $.28 at $84.33; Lean Index as of 07/23 @ $78.72 off $.21. Comments: August hogs at a crossroads of sort at its major m/a’s of $77.17-77.64 with the 20-day at $75.61; C-O-T report: leaned bearishly; open interest little changed in total amid light-side volume. Pork demand is flaccid though about steady, but needs to improve if a turn around evident.
