MHS Marching Band Boat Parade will be on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 7pm. WE will once again have three public shows, at the Amphitheater approx 7:05pm, Main Public Beach approx 7:20pm and Sportsman’s Club approx 7:45pm. Donation boxes will be set up at each of these locations for the public to help support the MHS Marching Band Program. Our marching band competition set cost about $8,000.00. Here’s how you can help: come out and enjoy the show at one of the above locations and support the program there. Donations can be mailed to Mitchell Music Booster, Box 552, Mitchell, SD 57301

A New York City doctor says U2 singer Bono suffered multiple fractures and had to have two surgeries after his weekend bicycle accident. Orthopedic trauma surgeon Dr. Dean Lorich says Bono underwent a five-hour surgery on his elbow in which three plates and 18 screws were inserted on Sunday night. Bono had another surgery to repair a fracture to his left pinkie on Monday. Lorich says Bono will need therapy but a full recovery is expected.

Amanda Knox murder conviction overturned

Knox’s murder conviction in the 2007 stabbing of her roommate has been reinstated by an Italian court, but the former college exchange student maintains her innocence and vows she won’t willingly go back to Italy. Both Knox and Sutherland are 27. No wedding date had been set.
