Creative Writing Festival at University of South Dakota-Vermillion March 27-28, 2015

Writers high school age and up are invited to register for the VLP Literary Festival and Sorcerer’s Apprentice Creative Writing Camp, to be held Friday-Saturday, March 27-28, 2015, at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. No experience with creative writing is necessary.

There will be a pheasant hunt on March 28 to raise funds for the Mt. Vernon Fire Dept. Cost of the hunt is only $100.00/ gun. This will be your last time to blast roosters till September!! Saturday March 28th, there will be a social hour with horse races to follow from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the Highland Conference Center in Mitchell.

Polar Plunge will take place on Sunday, March 29th at the Highland Mall. Registration begins at 12:30pm with the Plunge kicking off at 2.
The event raises money for the special olympics of south dakota.

participants are asked to raise a minimum of $100 in order to jump into the water.

Spring Football Skills Camp

The Mitchell Parks and Recreation Department is taking registration for a sprinng football skills camp hosted by DWU coaches and players. Camp is open to anyone in grades 3-6. Dates are April 7th, 9th, 13th, and 15th. It will be at the practice field from 4-5pm each day.
Cost is $40 and includes a camp t-shirt.
