Renee Robbins and Tim Smith host the Mitchell area’s highest rated morning show, with an entertaining combination of information, music, contest, special guest, news and weather.
Renee Robbins grew up on a farm near Fedora, about 35 miles northeast of Mitchell. After graduating from Howard High School, Renee attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN to pursue a degree in Radio and Television broadcasting. An internship with CMT (Country Music Television) led to a traveling job with CMT Marketing, which led to a traveling position with Hershey’s for the Soul 2 Soul II tour with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. After exploring the country, Renee is glad to be home to share her experiences and love of country music with KMIT.
Renee began as host of the KMIT Morning Show in October of 2006, and enjoys waking up neighbors and friends with fun, information, and great music!

Tim Smith has spent 36 years as a broadcaster in Mitchell. He also serves as the Play-By-Play voice for KMIT sports and has won numerous awards including multiple South Dakota “Sportscaster of the Year” honors.
